Corinne Folk

My name is Corinne Folk, I was born and raised in Michigan, and currently live in Warren.  I have always been an animal lover, and I guess you could even say, a bit of an activist.  From a fairly young age I was drawn to marine life, and advocated for the release of orcas at Seaworld.  While I still have a passion for sea creatures, I really wanted to be able to make a more tangible difference for animals in my community.  When I came upon a post from a friend, looking for Boxer Haven fosters, I reached out for more information.  Within just a few weeks, I was taking in my very first foster. From there, I was hooked. Now I live with my BHR alum, Walter White, and a grumpy old man of a cat, Elvis, and am passionate about saving as many boxers as possible! Through fostering I have gained experience with heartworm treatment, working with deaf dogs, and general care and obedience.  I love learning more about what makes boxers tick, and also how to manage specific behaviors and medical conditions, to ensure each boxer we encounter is able to live their absolute best life possible. On a personal front, I have a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University, and work as a Strategic Planning and Analysis Manager for a local automotive supplier.  I have a strong background in management and leadership, as well as finance.  I’m confident my professional skills will be an asset in my new leadership role within Boxer Haven Rescue.  I am excited by the opportunity to combine my finance and leadership skills with my passion for rescue, and help bring this organization to new and exciting heights. What I am most excited about though, is partnering with my best friend Victoria Zahul on this new endeavor.  There is no other person I would want to conquer the world with, and together we are hoping to help grow and lead this organization for years to come.
